I love this time of the year here in the South!
IT’S STRAWBERRY SEASON!
I remember when I was little. My mother would be a little embarrassed walking up to the make shift counter there in the field to pay for our stawberries. Our buckets would be full, but so were the bellies of her three little mischevious children and the guilty evidence would be stained all over our faces for the world to see. The elderly man at the counter would just give us each a wink and off we would run to the car, laughing the whole way.
Now, I get to start that tradition with my own children.
We went a few weeks ago and picked a TON of them!
Here are a few pics from when we went.
Teaching them young on how to keep the cost down. My mother would be proud.
My son literally ate strawberries all day long. He wasn’t going to let a little water stand in his way!
We picked so many, I had to stick them in the freezer for fear that they would go bad before we could eat them all. However, had my son kept going at the pace he was at, that wouldn’t have been a problem.
Something makes me think I will be coming up with a few strawberry recipes.
Thanks for stopping by!
